Elementary Education Teacher

Current Position:

I graduated in the winter of 2003 and started my teaching career right away! I taught in the Catholic schools for several years. My first year was 3rd grade at St. Jude Catholic School on north Amidon in Wichita, KS. Then, I moved with the 8th grade teacher who took a principal position at Holy Spirit Catholic School in Goddard, KS. The school was growing each year. I taught in a combination classroom with 1st and 2nd graders. It was a fun experience! In 2009, I moved to Andale Elementary, where I was hired to teach 2nd grade. I taught 2nd grade for 6 years at Andale Elementary and moved to 3rd grade for the 2015 school year.

Family Information:

I live in Colwich, Kansas and have a son named Wyatt. He is an avid sports player and teenager who attend Andale High School. You can pronounce my last name “L-ea-s ” with a long e. Wyatt and I enjoy tacos on Sundays, our labrador named “Winston.” You may find me volunteering and Wyatt fishing. I sure love being a mama and teacher!Wyatt and I

Personal Information:

In our free time, I usually drive Wyatt to sports practices! He loves playing team sports and I enjoy cheering him on! On the weekends, I like to cook recipes off of Pinterest, go for walks, repurpose furniture, teach Chinese students online and hang out with loved ones. I also love attending teacher workshops and finding the newest and greatest teacher resources for my students. I also enjoy church classes throughout the diocese of Wichita. In the Fall we are pretty busy with volleyball. I coach the 8th grade.

Life is to be enjoyed! In this picture, my brother’s dog is trying to get the cat out of the tree. Wyatt thinks he is also helping by catching the cat in the bag :) We are a farm based family and believe in hard work as well!
